Battlefield Park
Located on Beach Road just off of Rt. 9 in downtown Lake George

The park offers something for everyone like picnics and leisurely games, to biking and jogging. Visitors can explore the history of Lake George as well by visiting the various monuments surrounding the park.

Father Isaac Jogues, the first White man to lay eyes on Lake George. In the 1630s, he spread Christianity to the Huron people of the Lake George Region. Martyred by the Mohawk in 1646, he has his place amongst the "North American Martyrs".

This monument honors four soldiers who died during the Battle of Lake George. Their remains unearth, were put to rest in 1935. This monument seeks to remember the struggles that took place to make Lake George the wonderful place it is today. (credit: Lake George.com)

The Warren County Bikeway has many historical markers located along the trail. We encourage riders to stop and learn about the long history of the Lake George Region.
